Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection)

Summary Position located in Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, Visitor and Resource Protection Division. Application deadline 06/29/2026 or first 100 applicants, whichever comes first. Major Duties Provide leadership and management for the Visitor and Resource Protection Division and serve as a key member of the park management team. Act as primary subject matter expert and advisor to the Superintendent and management team on all law enforcement and resource/visitor protection matters. Serve as a Level 1 commissioned park ranger, carry firearms and other defensive equipment. Perform law enforcement, emergency medical services, physical security, and search and rescue operations. Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and resource management staff to implement protection activities. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws related to boundary encroachment and visitor protection. Education Valid Type I (permanent) National Park Service (NPS) Law Enforcement Commission obtained by 06/29/2026, completed training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and National Park Service Field Training and Evaluation Program. No substitution of education for experience at this grade level. Requirements U.S. citizenship, background investigation and favorable adjudication. Selective Service registration for males. Physical and drug testing, medical examination (vision, hearing, cardiovascular, mobility). Type I or higher Law Enforcement Commission, requirement to carry a firearm, maintain proficiency, and perform random testing. No domestic violence convictions. Meet time‑in‑grade requirements for current or former federal employees at closing.
