About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Security and Defense for Public Sector Banking. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the defense initiative, with a specific focus on driving revenue growth within the U.S. Department of Defense and related security agencies. This leadership role requires extensive engagement both internally and externally, and the development of senior client relationships with government officials and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The Head will be responsible for strategic business development, client relationship management, and thought leadership in the defense and security space. They must have a deep understanding of the industry, including the evolving nexus between ministries of defense and OEMs, and be able to connect the public sector defense initiative to all parts of the firm. Applicants for the Head of Security and Defense position at the company should have a background that includes extensive client interaction at senior levels within the security and defense space, as well as multi-year experience in the military, business development for OEMs, or related security agencies. The role demands a candidate with a strong banking background, including experience in corporate finance, credit, and a full knowledge of the suite of products used in this sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deal origination and structuring, consistent delivery of revenue and budget targets, and the ability to manage the heightened franchise risk associated with the security and defense business. A strategic mindset, leadership skills, and the ability to balance internal management with external client engagement are essential. The role also requires a candidate with a Master's or MBA degree from a top program, FINRA licenses, and a deep understanding of compliance and regulatory issues.
