We're looking for a Senior Development Scientist to lead formulation design, scientific experimentation, and scale-up for our OSD portfolio - driving innovation from lab bench to manufacturing floor.About the RoleAs Senior Development Scientist on our Oral Solid Dose (OSD) development team, you'll drive formulation design, rigorous scientific experimentation, scale-up, and technical risk assessment for existing OSD products. You'll bring strong expertise in formulation science, material characterization, and process understanding - translating laboratory insights into scalable, robust manufacturing processes. This role serves as a scientific leader for OSD projects, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.What You'll DoLead formulation design and development using principles of scientific rigor, Quality by Design, and material scienceDevelop prototypes, optimize formulations, and establish a Design Space through structured experimentationEvaluate interactions between API, excipients, and process parameters, translating that understanding into robust formulation strategiesDevelop Direct Compression, wet and dry granulation, and continuous manufacturing formulations based on project needsPlan, execute, and interpret Design of Experiments (DoE) to understand critical material attributes and critical process parametersApply root cause analysis to resolve formulation and process failuresPerform or interpret key characterization of raw materials and blends, including PSD, microscopy, rheology, compatibility, moisture sorption, and compressibilityDesign scalable manufacturing processes and partner with site technical teams on knowledge transferPrepare technical protocols, reports, and regulatory documentation (CMC Module 3)Partner with Analytical, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure end-to-end technical alignmentPresent at internal R&D forums and external meetingsIndependently develop and communicate conclusions and recommendations for next stepsKeep matrix leaders informed of progress and activitiesWhat You'll BringRequired:Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Life Sciences5+ years of relevant experiencePreferred:Master's, PhD, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant disciplineKnowledge of regulatory requirements and the drug development processStrong problem-solving and scientific expertiseProject management experienceExperience analyzing dataAbility to influence and collaborate across teamsImpellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
