Job Overview UC Clermont College Science and Health Department is recruitingfor a full-time (100% FTE) Senior Laboratory Associate. Salarycommensurate with experience. This position will support theUniversity’s mission and commitment to excellence for our students,faculty, staff and all our activities. The position is open untilit is filled and the review of applications will begin in May2026. Essential Functions The primary role of this position is to provide supportactivities for the instructional needs of designated laboratoriesand to administer the daily operational policies of thelaboratories. Job responsibilities include, but are not limitedto: Laboratory Preparation & Instructional Support Prepare laboratory materials for all scheduled courses,including reagents, solutions, media, specimens, cultures, andequipment. Supporting labs may include A&P, Microbiology, Biology,Cell Biology, Environmental Studies, Ecology, and Allied Health(ie: Physical Therapy Assistant and Surgical Technicianprograms). Set up and break down laboratory exercises according to facultylab manuals and course schedules. Maintain and catalog bacteria cultures, prepare agar plates anddifferent types of media. Coordinate lab preparation timelines with multiple instructorsto ensure readiness for concurrent courses. Laboratory Operations & Organization Oversee daily operations of teaching laboratories, prep rooms,and shared lab spaces. Maintain clean, organized, and functional lab environments incompliance with current institutional standards. This will include disposal and storage of all chemical andbiohazard lab waste according to regulations by UC EnvironmentalHealth and Safety (EHS). Label and store in EHS containers and/orbottles for pick up by the UC EHS department for disposal. Schedule laboratory spaces and shared equipment in coordinationwith faculty, staff and department. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including chemicalhygiene, biosafety, bloodborne pathogens, UC guidelines and OSHAstandards. This will include communicating with faculty/staff/studentsabout chemical and biohazard safety program administration.Responsible for keeping record of training certificates for allfaculty/staff/students. Manage chemical and biological inventories, including labeling,storage, compatibility, and disposal. Coordinate hazardous waste handling and disposal according tolocal, state, and federal regulations. Train faculty, staff, and student workers on laboratory safetyprocedures and emergency protocols. Equipment & Resource Management Maintain a purchasing card and all the digital record keepingfor the financial accounts in UC’s Concur System. Order, receive, and track of lab supplies and equipment withindepartmental or grant budgets. Maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate repairs for laboratoryequipment (microscopes, incubators, autoclaves, micropipettes,refrigerators, freezers, etc.). Planning, Documentation & Institutional Support Maintain accurate records for inventory, safety documentation,equipment maintenance, and lab usage. This will include maintenance of chemical and biologicalinventory and keeping SDS sheets available in the lab for allchemicals. Communicate with the IT and Facilities departments to solvecomputer problems and create work orders on lab maintenanceneeds. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of experience -OR-Associate degree with four (4) years of experience. Ideal Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of biologyand/or microbiology lab experience -OR- a Master’s degree inBiology, Microbiology or a closely related field. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Office environment/no specific unusual physical orenvironmental demands.
