Spanish Speech Data Auditor

Role Overview

Audit Spanish-language AI training data by carefully comparing speech recordings with transcripts and word-level timing. This role focuses on quality review, not content creation, and requires consistent use of defined audit standards and written reasoning for every decision.

Key Responsibilities

• Review multilingual transcription tasks by listening to human or agent speech, comparing it with an annotator’s transcript, applying required error codes, issuing a pass or fail decision, and writing a concise rationale.
• Audit word-level audio alignments by confirming that each segment’s start and end timestamps match the spoken word and that the reference transcription reflects what was said.
• Correct alignment issues by adjusting boundaries, splitting or merging segments, adding missing segments, or removing segments that contain no word.
• Apply every relevant error code when an issue is found, identify critical errors first, and clearly explain why a task passed or failed.
• Complete a short calibration phase before beginning production work.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native command of Spanish as spoken in Spain. Candidates must have been born and raised in a region where this language variety is dominant, or be fully fluent with at least five years of residence in such a region.
• Strong English reading and writing skills to interpret detailed conventions and error codes and provide clear audit feedback.
• Ability to apply written rubrics consistently across a high volume of judgments.
• Excellent listening skills, including the ability to distinguish similar sounds, identify word boundaries in continuous speech, and separate genuine acoustic ambiguity from clear annotation errors.
• Experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or quality assurance is strongly valued.
• Helpful, but not required: AI data annotation or model evaluation experience, a phonetics or linguistics background, or experience with audio-editing or waveform tools.

Work Terms

• Remote, hourly engagement.
• Each audit task is allocated 5.00 audit hours.
• This is detail-oriented listening and review work, with a written explanation required for every judgment.

Compensation

$39.50 per hour.
