You will also become part of a values-driven, compassionate, and fun-loving team that genuinely cares about one another and the patients we serve.About the RoleNEWCC is seeking an experienced Pediatrician who is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to children and families.The Pediatrician provides comprehensive primary and preventive care to infants, children, and adolescents while working collaboratively with nurse practitioners, nurses, behavioral health providers, support staff, and other members of NEWCC's multidisciplinary healthcare team.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physician who values relationship-based care, enjoys working with a diverse patient population, and wants to make a meaningful difference for children and families who may experience financial, social, cultural, or other barriers to healthcare.What You'll DoProvide comprehensive pediatric primary and preventive care to infants, children, and adolescents.Obtain health histories and perform age-appropriate physical examinations.Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic pediatric health conditions.Provide comprehensive well-child care, including preventive screenings, developmental assessments, anticipatory guidance, and health education.Evaluate growth and development and identify developmental, behavioral, nutritional, or other concerns requiring intervention or referral.Assess immunization status and provide appropriate recommendations and education consistent with current clinical guidelines.Develop individualized treatment plans that consider the medical, developmental, behavioral, social, cultural, and financial circumstances of patients and their families.Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Wisconsin law and professional practice standards.Order, review, interpret, and follow up on laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic studies.Perform minor procedures appropriate to pediatric primary care and within the physician's demonstrated competency and scope of practice.Recognize changes in patient condition and appropriately determine when specialty consultation, referral, emergency evaluation, or a higher level of care is necessary.Coordinate referrals and connect patients and families with specialty care, community resources, and other services when additional support is needed.Provide patients and caregivers with clear, developmentally and culturally appropriate education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and follow-up needs.Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.Collaborate with other providers and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote continuity, quality, and coordination of care.Provide clinical consultation, guidance, and support to advanced practice providers and other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.Participate in peer review, quality improvement, patient safety, population health, provider meetings, and other clinical initiatives.Participate in community outreach and off-site healthcare activities as organizational and patient needs require.Support NEWCC's commitment to providing culturally responsive, patient- and family-centered care to underserved communities.What We're Looking ForEducation, Licensure & CertificationDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.Successful completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.Current, unrestricted Wisconsin medical license or eligibility to obtain Wisconsin licensure.Board Certified in Pediatrics preferred. Board Eligible candidates must obtain Board Certification within the timeframe established by NEWCC.Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain and maintain registration.Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification as required by NEWCC.Ability to successfully complete NEWCC credentialing and privileging requirements.Experience & SkillsFive or more years of experience providing pediatric care preferred.Strong pediatric assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.Demonstrated experience managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions and providing comprehensive preventive and well-child care.Experience in pediatric primary care, community health, or a similar outpatient environment preferred.Experience caring for underserved, medically vulnerable, or culturally diverse patient populations is a plus.Strong commitment to family-centered, culturally responsive care.Ability to practice independently while collaborating effectively with advanced practice providers and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills.Experience using an electronic health record; Epic experience is a plus.Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.Why NEWCC?At NEWCC, your work has purpose.
