Job Title: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Conformal Coating

Job Description

This role leads and supports a dedicated assembly team in a conformal coat operation, ensuring the effective and efficient application of conformal coating to electronic components and assemblies. The supervisor assesses team performance, plans and coordinates projects, and drives safety, quality, and throughput on the production lines during 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of conformal coat operators while consistently achieving safety, quality, and throughput objectives.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer delivery commitments and production schedules.
• Ensure quality of workmanship in accordance with IPC standard requirements and internal quality guidelines.
• Hold and conduct daily Kaizen team meetings to communicate issues, identify opportunities to improve throughput and efficiency, and track actions required to achieve improvements.
• Manage individual performance of team members, including conducting performance reviews, setting objectives and expectations, and developing team members to their fullest potential.
• Communicate effectively with team members to maintain high levels of efficiency and productivity on the production lines.
• Collaborate with internal team members, leaders, and other stakeholders regarding delivery commitments and production requirements.
• Provide servant leadership by supporting the team’s needs, removing obstacles, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Supervise and lead the conformal coat operation, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to processes.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of conformal coating equipment to ensure reliability, accuracy, and safety.
• Manage inventory of conformal coating materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock is available to support ongoing production.
• Identify process improvements required to support build requirements and develop actionable plans to meet delivery commitments.
• Resolve conflicts among team members in a professional manner, preventing unnecessary escalation and maintaining a cohesive team.
• Ensure proper use of assembly documentation and adherence to established procedures for SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assemblies.
• Utilize computer systems, including ERP or MRP tools and the MS Office suite, to monitor production, track materials, and support reporting needs.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical handling and working with conformal coating materials.
• In-depth knowledge of conformal coating processes, materials, and equipment.
• Proven experience supervising and leading a team of production or conformal coat operators, including providing guidance, training, and performance support.
• Hands-on experience operating automated machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working on SMT, through-hole, or mixed-technology electronic assemblies.
• Ability to read and understand assembly documentation and follow detailed work instructions.
• Solid understanding of IPC 610-A or ANSI-J technical standards related to electronic assembly quality.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and develop plans to support build requirements and delivery commitments.
• Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to address and resolve issues among team members without escalation.
• Good computer skills, including familiarity with the MS Office suite and experience using ERP or MRP systems.
• Ability to coordinate and oversee maintenance and calibration activities for coating equipment.
• Capability to manage inventory of conformal coating materials and supplies to support continuous production.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled electronic manufacturing facility focused on SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assemblies. Team members work on 2nd shift from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with overtime as required to meet production demands. The position involves regular work in a production environment, including standing or walking for extended periods and safely maneuvering product weighing up to 25 pounds. Employees must wear ESD protection and appropriate safety gear while working in safety-sensitive areas. The facility uses automated machinery, conformal coating equipment, and computer systems such as ERP or MRP tools and the MS Office suite to support production and inventory management.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Plano, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
