Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring one year of nursing experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 16-bed adult ICU within a hospital setting
• Manages critically ill patients including ventilator support and post-operative care
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2
• Average patient length of stay is 3-7 days
• Rotating day and night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• May be scheduled on holidays if there is a staffing need
• Can be placed on standby call once per pay period

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact) required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-B

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Perform patient assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex cases
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs
• Participate in discharge planning and identify high-risk patients
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary resources and contribute to unit performance improvement activities
