Job Description

The Maintenance Technician works primarily on slitters, packaging machines, press machines, oscillators, and conveyors, performing preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant machinery and facility systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery, including slitters, packaging machines, press machines, oscillators, and conveyors, to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Review the operation and performance of plant equipment and systems to evaluate the need for maintenance or repair and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using quick and effective root cause analysis to restore equipment to proper working condition.
• Maintain a low percentage of maintenance-related downtime by responding promptly to equipment issues and implementing sustainable fixes.
• Complete work order documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including details of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Monitor and support the operation of control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection systems, and mechanical bearing systems to ensure reliable performance.
• Inventory, requisition, and organize machine parts, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance activities to ensure availability when required.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed, following safety and quality standards.
• Perform facilities maintenance tasks as deemed necessary by plant leadership, supporting the overall upkeep of the building and infrastructure.
• Adhere to plant safety procedures and attendance expectations, contributing to a reliable and safe production environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a distribution center or manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, including experience working with 480V systems.
• Ability to read and interpret ladder logic for control systems and perform related troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience working with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Hands-on experience working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Proficiency in machine maintenance, including mechanical repair and adjustment of production equipment.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to complete detailed work order documentation and follow established maintenance procedures.
• Capability to work occasional on-call hours and respond promptly to equipment issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs and ladder logic is highly valued and may lead to higher compensation.
• Experience in maintaining slitters, packaging machines, press machines, oscillators, and conveyors is beneficial.
• Familiarity with fire protection systems and mechanical bearing systems in an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, parts, and equipment in a production environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to documenting maintenance activities accurately.
• Willingness to support new equipment installation and facility maintenance as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in an industrial manufacturing or distribution setting, working directly with production machinery such as slitters, packaging machines, press machines, oscillators, and conveyors. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work and on-call duties as needed. On-call work is compensated with a minimum of two hours of pay for each call, even if the repair takes only a short time. The environment involves hands-on work with electrical systems up to 480V, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, requiring adherence to safety procedures and consistent attendance under a structured attendance system. Work is performed on the plant floor and facilities areas, using standard maintenance tools, parts, and equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mission, TX.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

school reimbursement growth opportunities $27/hr, ability to go up to $30 if they have PLC experience. Monthly production bonus added, avg. 5%-20% based on performance. Not guaranteed.

This is a fully onsite position in Mission,TX.
