Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the ongoing functionality, safety, and efficiency of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role includes diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, performing routine and preventive maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility. The technician is expected to maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and comply with safety regulations and company policies, including cGMP standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues.

• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute routine maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

• Facility Upkeep: Perform daily inspections and maintenance tasks on facility systems and infrastructure.

• Contractor Coordination: Work with external vendors and contractors for equipment repair and installation projects.

• Fabrication & Installation: Assist in the design, construction, and setup of machinery and production systems.

• Welding Tasks: Weld metal components using TIG or MIG techniques as needed for fabrication and repair.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure maintenance tasks adhere to OSHA, building codes, and company safety protocols.

• Documentation: Accurately maintain logs and records of all maintenance and repair activities.

• Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with other departments to identify and respond to facility needs.

• Worksite Cleanliness: Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces at all times.

• Other Duties: Perform additional related duties as assigned by maintenance or facility leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

• Education :


• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred: Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• Experience :


• Required: Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Preferred: Experience with welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems in food or regulated industries.

• Qualifications :


• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards, cGMP regulations, and general safety practices.

• Mechanical Skills: Strong knowledge of industrial systems, machinery, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Process Management: Ability to manage maintenance processes and follow established procedures.

• Team Collaboration: Capable of working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Work Environment Adaptability: Comfortable working in hot, cold, or noisy environments, including outdoors.

• Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, cooperative attitude, and commitment to ethical work standards.

• Problem-Solving: Effective troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving equipment issues.

• Safety Focus: Commitment to safety and following all relevant regulations and training protocols.

• Licensing: Valid Driver's License required; forklift experience is a plus.

• Training Flexibility: Willingness to complete company-designated training programs as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.

• Mobility: Must be able to work in confined spaces, ceilings, rooftops, and elevated areas.

• Flexibility: Requires reaching, bending, turning, climbing ladders, and handling various tools and materials.

• Endurance: Ability to stand, walk, and work on concrete floors for extended periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Facility Type: Industrial manufacturing setting with both indoor and outdoor work areas.

• Temperature Exposure: May work in extreme heat or cold depending on location and season.

• Safety Standards: Must adhere to PPE requirements and facility hygiene policies.

• Tools & Equipment: Frequent use of power tools, hand tools, ladders, and maintenance machinery.
