Job OpportunityThis position is for a rotating day and mid shift role in a general Emergency Department setting. The shifts will alternate between 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, requiring availability every other weekend.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive medical care to critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced emergency department.Meet the needs of both adult and pediatric patients.Administer medications, IVs, and blood products as per organizational protocols.Perform triage, EKG monitoring, and maintain compliance with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).Utilize the Meditech charting system for patient documentation.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.Participate in patient care for various emergencies, including, but not limited to, trauma, neurological events, and respiratory issues.QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of charge experience preferred.Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC.Experience with arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and procedural sedation administration.Ability to interpret EKGs and arterial blood gases (ABGs).Familiarity with handling traumatic incidents, including gunshot wounds and neuro-trauma cases.Work EnvironmentPatient Age Groups: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, GeriatricsDaily patient visits approximate the established census for a busy emergency department.Number of treatment rooms available: 49Compliance and PoliciesApplicants with a history of working perm in this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered.Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be classified as "local" and will not be accepted.Mandatory fit testing will be conducted; compliance with grooming standards is required.Zero-tolerance policy for THC; medical marijuana cards will not be accepted.LocationCity: Augusta, State: VA
