Recruiting Certified Peer Specialist for Manhattan Psychiatric CenterApply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role.Manhattan Psychiatric Center (MPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission-accredited facility, is recruiting a Certified Peer Specialist or a Peer Specialist to join their Transition to Home Unit (THU) team. The THU team provides a multi-disciplinary approach to care for individuals who have a history of homelessness. The goals of the THU team are to develop personalized treatment plans for active rehabilitation and reintegration to the community. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with pass days of Saturday/Sunday.As a Peer Specialist, you will support the recovery and wellness of individuals in the THU. Responsibilities include:Leading peer support groups and lessons based on recovery principlesSharing progress updates with the treatment teamPromoting a safe, supportive, and respectful environmentDocumenting participation and progress in the internal electronic client databaseRepresenting the peer perspective in team and facility meetingsAs a Certified Peer Specialist, you will support the recovery and wellness of individuals in the THU.
