Mechanical Maintenance

Job Summary

Perform routine and semi-skilled work while assisting skilled workers in performance of maintenance and repairs. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance and repairs for designated building, facilities and equipment, ensuring technical operations are in proper running order.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance and basic repairs to buildings, facilities, equipment, and systems
• Assists with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical maintenance
• Use hand and power tools and basic equipment to complete assigned maintenance tasks
• Performs preventive maintenance and routine inspections to identify maintenance needs
• Assists skilled technicians with more complex repairs, installations, and maintenance projects
• Responds to work orders and service requests and documents work performed
• Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of related work experience

Proposed Salary

$17.13 - $20.96 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES

• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and work order instructions
• Ability to work with power tools and various hand tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems

KNOWLEDGE

• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
• Basic working knowledge of various repair and maintenance tasks, to include those in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing

SKILLS

• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
• Detail-oriented
