About This Role
Are you a passionate early childhood educator who believes in the power of play? We are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our small, high-quality, play-based program located on the scenic Vermont Law and Graduate School campus. This is a full-time position for an educator who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment and is committed to fostering a sense of wonder in young learners.
The Role
As the Lead Teacher, you will be the heart of our classroom, designing a nurturing environment where children learn through exploration, social interaction, and hands-on discovery. You will lead a small teaching team to ensure a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate experience for every child.

Key Responsibilities:
- Play-Based Curriculum : Design and implement engaging, child-centered activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Classroom Leadership : Model positive, respectful interactions and supervise assistant teachers or support staff.
- Family Partnership : Maintain open, professional communication with families through daily updates and scheduled conferences.
- Observation & Assessment : Monitor children’s developmental progress using tools like to individualize learning plans.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the program consistently meets Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations for health, safety, and quality.
Must be 21 years or older and have 21+ college credits in early childhood education or related field or hold a CDA credential.
Nice To Haves- Preferred Skills & Experience :
- Previous experience working with young children (1 year preferred).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- A basic understanding of child development and positive behavior support strategies.
