Assistant Teaching Professor - Accounting

Job Description The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for a full‑time Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting, beginning Fall 2026. This is a non‑tenure‑track teaching position with a renewable three‑year term. The role emphasizes teaching junior, senior, and graduate‑level accounting courses, contributing new ideas in emerging areas, and supporting CPA readiness. Qualifications Master’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field. Evidence of strong teaching effectiveness in upper‑level accounting courses. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated passion for teaching and student success. Ph.D. in Accounting or related discipline. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or similar). Relevant professional or industry experience linking technology and accounting practice. Responsibilities Teach a seven‑course annual load across undergraduate and graduate levels (typically three courses in one semester and four in another). Develop and deliver CPA‑relevant content and support initiatives that link accounting theory, analytics, and professional practice. Collaborate with faculty to innovate the accounting curriculum. Engage in student mentoring and advising, participate in departmental and school service, and contribute to Whitman’s mission of experiential, career‑ready education.
