Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments — incorporating physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs — and synthesize findings to guide individualized care plans
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including bedside point-of-care testing and adherence to nursing standards, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, promote continuity, and address discharge planning needs
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and utilize appropriate patient education materials relevant to the population served
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous neurological nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience with remote telemetry monitoring
