Job Description - Cashier/Sales Associate

Position Summary:
The Sales Associate's primary responsibility is to drive sales by consistently providing our customers with world-class customer service, which supports our mission of being "the most helpful hardware stores on the planet!"

• Puts "Customers First, Tasks Second."
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements and provide this information to customers.
• Execute the daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management.
• Continually work on increasing knowledge of the products we sell and their uses
• Merchandising skills and abilities.
• Recognition of merchandising issues, stock problems, pricing concerns, labeling and signage issues, etc. within your area of responsibility and/or the store as a whole; and notification of management on these issues.

Education/Training:

High School diploma or GED equivalent, will train high school students.
Possess a willingness to learn.

Experience:

Establishing relationships and working with customers.
Trade skills accompanied by a personality that will support our Core Values and mission is a plus but will train.

Skills/Knowledge:

Knowledge of retail computer systems a plus.
Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
