Outreach and education will equip organizations, community members, teens and young adults to understand, recognize and appropriately respond to gender-based violence and human trafficking, and identify survivors to make referrals to appropriate services.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct educational sessions with teens and young adults within The Salvation Army Corps that serve the targeted communities as well as to other organizations that serve teens and young adults. Identify locations for and coordinate details of trainings, both community based and organizational. Maintain awareness of current trends, laws, and dynamics in regard to human trafficking and gender-based violence and update curriculum accordingly. Develop handout materials, including resources and important information from the curriculum. Develop online resources and online training. Conduct trainings catered to specific organizations and communities based on populations served and types of gender-based violence/human trafficking experienced in the area. Develop culturally sensitive material. Administer required training paperwork, including sign-ins, pre/post tests and evaluations for each training conducted. Attend community trainings and events to ensure all materials are up to date. Identify community resources and assist in developing linkages to increase Stop-It program’s capacity for community training and awareness events. Provide technical assistance and follow up to trainees on coalition building, service provision, and identification of survivors. Develop and host community awareness workshops designed to educate the community on the existence of gender-based violence/human trafficking and resources to equip the community to respond. In consultation with supervisor, initiate contact with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a mandated reporter when child abuse or neglect is suspected. In consultation with supervisor, initiate contact with the Elder Abuse Hotline as a mandated reporter of elder abuse and neglect. Keep supervisor informed of participants in crisis who may be at-risk, and any situation or incident that may require immediate attention, to prevent harm by following the agency emergency plan. Maintain Stop-It hotline as assigned and shared with other Stop-It staff. Complete statistical reports and other required reports and record keeping as required by the grant.INTRA-AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES
Study agency policies, procedures, and programs and contribute ideas and suggestions for change to Director in consultation with supervisor. Attend quarterly City Mission staff meetings. Attend weekly Stop-It team meetings. Engage in bi-weekly professional supervision with designated supervisor. Perform special administrative assignments or duties as may be delegated.COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Attend inter-agency meetings and participate in local networks, as appropriate. Participate in networking with community groups, agencies, and organizations to mutually provide resources and referrals.CONTINUING EDUCATION
Participate in professional seminars, conferences, and other meetings for continued education and professional knowledge. Maintain active interest and involvement in the social work field, especially in the areas of GBV and human trafficking, incorporating new developments into practice whenever possible.OTHER DUTIES

This position reports to the Stop-It Program Manager. The individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside The Salvation Army, acting as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.PERFORMANCE MEASURMENTS
The individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals. A 30-, 60-, and 90-day performance review will be conducted.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education A Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred from an accredited college or university required. A BSW is preferred, but a major in human services or related field is acceptable. A master’s degree in social work or related field is a plus. Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the GBV and/or human trafficking field. Skills/Abilities Experience in public speaking is required. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus. Persons with lived experience are encouraged to apply.COMPENTENCIES

Current driver’s license and a working, appropriately insured automobile. This individual will only commit Salvation Army resources that have been allocated or approved. This individual will keep the Stop-It program manager informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility. This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is required to do moderate physical work and must be able to lift 10 pounds. Must be able to use a computer and other office equipment regularly. Must be able to visit sites throughout the Chicago area. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
