- Occupational Therapy Assistant knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs.
- Highly motivated and self-directed individual.
- Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.


Description:
The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to participants.
Services are provided at the center and in participants' homes to maximize independence and safety.
The Occupational Therapist Assistant will collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist.
Key responsibilities include administering treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist.
Assisting the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
Coordinating with the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs tailored to participants' individual treatment plans.
Handling scheduling for treatment and clinical visits.
Documenting occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans.
Providing training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment.
Tracking and managing maintenance for therapeutic equipment.
Remaining attentive to input from team members, participants, and caregivers, and updating the Occupational Therapist promptly regarding changes in condition or functional status.
Participating in end-of-life care coordination and support under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
Completing all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner while protecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality.
Following established policies and procedures while participating in quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings.
Communicating regularly with supervisors and team members regarding workload and priorities.
Exercising flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve.
Additional duties may be assigned as required.
