Are you an Embedded Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Embedded Controls Engineer with experience in embedded firmware, looking to take the next step into management? Join a specialist power electronics business where you will play a key role in developing embedded software and digital control systems for complex electrical applications. You will lead a team of engineers responsible for embedded C/C++ firmware development, working across microcontrollers, real-time systems and digital control applications. You will help shape software architecture, solve complex engineering challenges and ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will remain involved in hands-on engineering, including debugging, testing, validation and hardware/software integration. You will collaborate closely with electrical, electronics and controls engineers, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both software and hardware.

The successful candidate will have experience in embedded C/C++ software or firmware development, alongside a background in electrical engineering, embedded controls, industrial electronics or power electronics. Previous leadership experience is beneficial, but senior engineers ready to step into management are also encouraged to apply.

The Role:

• Lead embedded C/C++ firmware development for digital power control systems and real-time applications.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of engineers, driving technical excellence and project delivery.
• Remain hands-on with debugging, testing, validation and hardware/software integration.
• Collaborate with electrical, electronics and controls engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products.

The Candidate:

• Experience with embedded C/C++ development, microcontrollers, RTOS, DSPs or real-time control systems.
• Background in electrical engineering, embedded controls, industrial electronics or power electronics, with relevant embedded software or firmware experience.
• Leadership experience, technical project leadership or mentoring experience, or a Senior Engineer ready to step into management.
