SUMMARY

The Shipping Technician is responsible for preparing, packing, and processing outgoing shipments in a timely and accurate manner; inventory management; and receiving functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Prepare and package products for shipment using appropriate materials to prevent damage. Verify and complete shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels. Schedule and coordinate with shipping carriers. Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments. Inspect outgoing packages to ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards. Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and label printers. Monitor and manage inventory of shipping supplies. Collaborate with the production team to meet shipping deadlines. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Forklift certification is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills and knowledge or inventory or ERP systems. Familiarity with shipping systems (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip) is a plus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED. 1-2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment and is exposed to fluctuating temperatures in certain areas; noises; working around machinery with moving parts; working in close proximity to others; potential trip hazards due to materials, tools, or equipment in the work area; and possible exposure to strong odors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift/move/carry up to 30 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods of time; use of both hands to handle or feel objects or controls with or without gloves; stoop/kneel/bend/crouch to reach material; climb on step-stool to access material overhead; climb stairs; have corrected hearing with ability to hear machine alarms; and operate machinery and/or power tools.
