Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $1,534 per week

Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel Nurse RN for an Operating Room (OR) assignment in Glendale, Arizona. The role begins on 07/13/2026 , lasts 8 weeks, and requires 40 hours per week on 8‑hour day shifts. Responsibilities Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for each surgical procedure. Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, ensuring comfort and safety. Maintains a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adheres to infection control protocols. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments and supplies promptly. Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon. Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal. Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols. Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately. Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases. Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures. Follows hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an OR RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications. OR Nursing Certification (CNOR). Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. English language proficiency, both written and verbal. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency with PC skills. Physical: ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor: fine manipulation skills when assisting with procedures and using department equipment. Mental: cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently or with occasional supervision, maintain concentration on details.
