Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This position involves performing MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. The role requires flexibility in working hours, including potential alternate shifts, weekends, and on-call duties as necessary to ensure quality patient care. You will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to various projects and committees as requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform procedures or examinations based on orders from licensed medical practitioners for diagnostic interpretation.
• Prepare patients for procedures, providing instruction to ensure desired results while minimizing anxiety.
• Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to mitigate risks to patients, yourself, and others.
• Select and operate the magnetic resonance system, including surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment.
• Position patients and equipment effectively to highlight the anatomic area of interest, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Immobolize patients as necessary for accurate examination results.
• Select appropriate pulse sequences, considering established protocols and data acquisition parameters.
• Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access as required.
• Prepare and administer contrast media according to protocols.
• Verify consent/screening forms and utilize appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers.
• Assist physicians during interventional procedures while practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to universal precautions.
• Evaluate images and data to ensure technical quality and manipulate digital data for optimal display, ensuring proper identification is evident.
• Attend to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout procedures.
• Utilize radiology information systems (including PACS) to complete required records and reports, archive, and submit images for physician review and interpretation.
• Initiate basic life support actions as necessary.
• Provide practical instruction to partners and students as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• Experience as an MRI Technologist is preferred.
• ARRT Radiography registration is required.
• ARRT MRI registration is required.
• Current CPR or BLS certification is required.

Work Schedule

24 hours per week, specifically on Mondays and Fridays, with a requirement for flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs.
