Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a strong Ortho/Spine or Robotics background and an active CT or compact RN license for a Level I Trauma Center assignment.

Details

• Works in the Operating Room department of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Supports a variety of surgical specialties including Ortho/Spine, Robotics, Vascular, Neurology, General Surgery, Urology, and more
• 1:1 patient ratio in the OR setting
• Offers Day (4x10, 7:00-13:30) and Evening (4x10, 13:00-23:30) shifts, with 3x12 and 5x8 shift options also available
• 3x12 shifts alternate between 7a-7p and 11a-11p; 5x8 shifts alternate between 7a-3:30p and 3p-11:30p
• No weekend shifts and no call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required within the specialty (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Strong Ortho/Spine background or Robotics experience preferred
• Experience with Epic or equivalent charting systems required

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including Vascular, Plastics, Oral, Neurology, Orthopedic, General Surgery, Endoscopic, Urology, Robotics, Gynecology, ENT, Bariatrics, and Thoracic procedures
• Work with specialized equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems
• Participate in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
