Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounds such as IV infusions, ensuring compliance with aseptic technique and safety protocols.
• Compound non-sterile medications accurately following prescribed formulas and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all compounding activities, including batch records and quality control logs.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions and preparing medications for patient administration.
• Support hospital and LTC pharmacy operations by managing medication inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow infection control practices diligently to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and product integrity.

Skills

• Proven experience in pharmacy technician roles, particularly within LTC or hospital environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and critical care protocols.
• Expertise in aseptic technique for sterile compounding, including IV infusion preparation.
• Familiarity with LTC pharmacy operations and acute care settings to support diverse patient needs.
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate compounding, documentation, and medication labeling.
• Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure optimal patient service and care.
