Position Summary
The Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, Nephrology will provide scientific leadership and medical expertise to support the clinical development of civorebrutinib in immune‑mediated renal diseases. The successful candidate will partner closely with Clinical Development to execute scientific strategy, engage external experts, identify evidence gaps, and build the scientific foundation required for successful late‑stage development. This individual will serve as the Global Medical Affairs lead for civorebrutinib (EVER001) and will also support broader nephrology franchise projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Scientific Leadership • Provide scientific leadership and execute the Global Medical Affairs strategy and tactical plan for civorebrutinib (EVER001), aligned with clinical development and evidence‑generation objectives. • Develop and maintain deep scientific expertise in civorebrutinib, immune‑mediated renal diseases, competitive landscape, emerging clinical data, and evolving standards of care. • Contribute to broader Global Medical Affairs activities across Travere’s nephrology franchise, including Sparsentan (FILSPARI).
- External Engagement & Insights • Lead the global KOL engagement strategy: identification, prioritization, scientific exchange, and long‑term relationship development with key opinion leaders, investigators, professional societies, and patient advocacy organizations. • Oversee planning, development, execution, and measurement of scientific engagement activities (advisory boards, expert panels, investigator meetings, congresses, forums). • Partner with Field Medical to support external scientific engagement, evidence generation, medical education, field training, and collection of actionable medical insights. • Translate insights into strategic recommendations for clinical development and evidence‑generation plans. • Drive scientific competitive intelligence activities and communicate emerging trends to internal stakeholders.
- Scientific Communications & Evidence Generation • Partner with Scientific Communications to develop and execute scientific messaging, the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP), publication strategy, congress strategy, and medical education. • Contribute to Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP), prioritizing clinical, real‑world, health economics, and investigator‑sponsored research opportunities. • Collaborate with Market Access and HEOR teams to support evidence generation, scientific value communication, and payer engagement strategies.
- Cross‑Functional Partnership & Governance • Collaborate with Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial, and Field Medical to ensure integrated medical strategy across product development. • Partner with global, regional, and affiliate medical teams for regional execution alignment. • Develop and deliver internal scientific training programs to keep cross‑functional teams current on emerging science and strategy. • Support the civorebrutinib clinical trial program, including investigator and site engagement and medical support.
- Planning & Operations Support • Support annual Medical Affairs strategic and tactical planning and cross‑functional execution for the nephrology portfolio. • Define and track medical KPIs that demonstrate impact on scientific, business, and patient outcomes. • Partner with Strategy & Operations to ensure effective processes, systems, governance, planning, and operational execution across the therapeutic area. • Manage vendors, budgets, timelines, and project execution to deliver high‑quality programs on time and within budget.
