Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location - Santa Rosa, CA

Duration - 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support Surgical Services in a busy acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of instrument decontamination, sterilization processes, tray assembly, and infection prevention practices.

Required Skills:

Instrument Decontamination
Sterilization Processes
Surgical Tray Assembly
Instrument Inspection and Testing
Case Cart Preparation
Inventory Management
Infection Control Practices
Quality Assurance and Documentation

Key Responsibilities:

Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
Prepare and distribute procedure trays and case carts
Monitor sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards
Support operating room and procedural departments with instrument needs
Maintain inventory levels and organize sterile storage areas
Float to other sterile processing areas as required

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Acute Care Hospital Experience
Experience with a wide variety of surgical instrumentation
Familiarity with Epic-supported healthcare environments
