The Warehouse Worker supports daily warehouse and production operations by stacking, sorting, and labeling boxes, loading and unloading trucks, organizing products, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate order picking, efficient material handling, and smooth production flow within a fast-paced warehouse and small consumer packaging environment.

Responsibilities

• Stack, sort, and label boxes accurately to support efficient warehouse and production operations.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling methods.
• Organize products in the warehouse to ensure easy access, accurate inventory control, and smooth workflow.
• Perform general labor tasks to support production and warehouse activities, including packing, filling, and packaging.
• Use RF scanners or other scanning devices to pick, scan, and verify orders and inventory.
• Handle materials, including lifting, moving, and staging products for production and shipping.
• Carry out order picking and warehouse packing according to work orders and production schedules.
• Assist with inventory-related tasks such as counting, organizing, and tracking stock as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping and safety procedures.
• Follow instructions and complete other duties as assigned by the production lead or warehouse supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in a small consumer packaging environment.
• Knowledge in production and/or manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency with loading and unloading trucks and handling materials safely.
• Experience with packaging, packing, and filling products.
• Ability to perform order picking, warehouse packing, and inventory-related tasks.
• Familiarity with RF scanners or other scanning equipment for picking and inventory.
• Effective communication skills to follow instructions and work with supervisors and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and production setting while maintaining accuracy and safety.

• Experience with material handling equipment and warehouse tools.
• Knowledge in order picking and inventory control processes.
• Comfort working with scanners and basic warehouse technology.
• Strong attention to detail when labeling, packing, and organizing products.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse and production environment. Typical hours are from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts as needed to meet operational demands. The role involves standing for extended periods, lifting and moving boxes and materials, and working around production and packaging equipment. You will use tools such as RF scanners and other warehouse devices to support picking, packing, and inventory tasks. The work setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with expectations to maintain a tidy work area and follow all safety guidelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Metairie, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
