Financial Controller - USA (H/F)

Soletanche Bachy is a company of the VINCI Group specializing in foundations and ground engineering technologies: foundations, dams, metros, port structures, underground car parks, tunnels, etc. A global leader in its market, it generates revenue of €2.3 billion, around 80% of which is international. Within our Group, which is structured around a network of local subsidiaries, Soletanche Bachy International manages cross-functional activities on a global scale. The entity hosts the Major Projects Division, whose scope is worldwide, undertaking and delivering infrastructure projects with a strong geotechnical component such as port structures, metros, and dams. These projects may be carried out jointly with a local subsidiary or entirely independently, for example in countries where the Group does not have a long-term presence.

It also includes the Technical Division, which supports both the Major Projects and the network of subsidiaries with expertise in areas such as structural design, methods, materials, equipment, embedded software engineering, and data management. Finally, it oversees the International Works Division, composed of highly skilled and mobile site personnel who are deployed to major projects or international subsidiaries depending on operational needs.

Mission

Based in Wilmington, Delaware, near Philadelphia and Baltimore in the United States, we are looking for a Financial Controller on a local contract. You will report directly to the project teams and maintain close coordination with the Finance Department at the French headquarters. The "Edgemoor Project" consists of the construction of a port dedicated to maritime freight. It is a joint venture between Soletanche Bachy International/Nicholson and Walsh Construction. The position is site-based.

Responsibilities:

Management Control / Budget Control

• Contribute to the reliability of analytical accounting and expenditure commitments
• Prepare budgets and forecasts
• Analyze project performance: support operational teams in optimizing costs and understanding variances
• Participate in monthly closing processes: coordinate the closing process, establish project provisions, and report results (Group reporting)
• Improve existing processes and tools

Accounting / Treasury

• Prepare and record client invoices
• Monitor cash collections and support operational teams
• Provide support for accounts payable management

Profil Recherche

What we're looking for: Master's degree in Finance, Management Control, or Engineering (Master's level / MSc).

At least 3 years of experience, ideally in the construction/public works sector and in an international environment.

Strong English skills, both written and spoken, are required.

Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with a good understanding of financial topics and a curiosity for operational challenges.

Good communication skills to interact with operational teams, site management, and multicultural teams.

Proficiency in digital tools (Excel); knowledge of Power BI and Power Query is a plus.
