About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty applied for. License: RN license (compact or state-specific) required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA certified). Must-Have: - Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and progressive care unit experience required. - Vent and transplant experience required. - Strong proficiency in required skill sets. Description: Traveler will work in both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit. Day/Evening shifts will be 12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Travelers must work Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patients in this unit may present with multiple comorbidities and a variety of medical diagnoses, including hemodynamic instability. Specialty populations cared for include patients with pulmonary hypertension and post-lung transplant. The unit has a daily census of 29 and is designed for both general care and IMC level patients. Critical thinking and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment providing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients. Nurses are integral members of the multidisciplinary team, advocating for quality patient care. Travelers will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Patients are cared for in a 29-bed unit with varying patient-to-nurse ratios. The candidates must have experience in an academic level trauma center or similar size hospital. Two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years is a requirement. Float assignments may be required based on unit needs. Candidates must meet strict passing criteria on a telemetry exam before being cleared to start. Failure to pass the exam after two attempts will lead to disqualification.
