Job Opportunity

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative environment with other health care team members to plan and implement patient education. The nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing or an Associate's degree
• Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• At least 18 months of experience as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
• 1 year of circulating experience
• 1 year of scrub experience

Essential Job Functions

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and situation (Assessment)
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation
• Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
• Implement the identified plan of care
• Employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment
• Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
• Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices
• Evaluate personal nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines
• Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice
• Incorporate research findings into practice
• Provide leadership in the professional practice setting

Stroke Competency

• Comply with hospital policies and procedures related to care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke
• Complete two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within the first year of hire
• Participate in one hour of annual cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education

Shift Notes

The position requires variable day shifts with a call requirement to provide flexibility in covering all shifts.
