Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, weekend coverage required

Requirements:

• Active South Carolina RN license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience with ICU background
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Previous experience with patient ratio of 1:2
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius from facility
• Two supervisory references required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Skills and Competencies:

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Arterial line and central line care/management
• Continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• ET tube and nasotracheal suctioning
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Experience with CRRT, chest tube insertion, EVD drains, and targeted temperature management

Patient Population:

• GI bleeds, COPD exacerbations, cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Overdose, withdrawal patients (CIWA protocol), and suicide attempts
• Neurosurgical and surgical patients, post-cardiac catheterization
• Acute stroke, trauma, and targeted temperature management
• End of life/comfort care and organ procurement cases

Additional Information:

• Pre-start modules required (approximately 2 hours, non-billable, completed before assignment begins)

• Holiday coverage expected as part of assignment
• Former permanent staff must be separated for 5 years before returning as travel nurse
