Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach

UPrep is seeking a talented, engaging, and compassionate Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach . The ideal candidate understands best practices in coaching volleyball and thrives on working independently as well as part of a team. Job Details Location: Seattle, Washington Type: Part Time, Temporary, Fall 2026 Job Summary Under general supervision, the Coach will cooperate with the Varsity Head Coach to lead one of the two JV Volleyball teams. The season begins on Monday, August 24th and concludes late October. Practices are held approximately four to five times a week from 3:00–4:30 pm or 4:30–6:00 pm, depending on facility availability. Saturday practices and games are also scheduled. Specific Responsibilities Teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques, and skills Is responsible for the health and safety of the athletes Articulates a well‑defined coaching philosophy in cooperation with the Varsity Head Coach Uses developmentally appropriate and age‑appropriate methods to coach student‑athletes Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes Communicates clearly with players, parents, administrators, and staff Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork Attends all required meetings and training sessions set by the league and/or Athletic Director Familiar with and complies with all school policies and regulations Ensures safety and security by taking necessary precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities Performs other duties as assigned Required Education & Experience High School diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field from a four‑year college or university preferred Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching volleyball required Recent successful coaching experience in an upper school environment preferred Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card Salary Stipend ranges from $4,000 to $5,000, based on experience Paid in two installments on the last workday of each month of September and October Position eligible for statutory benefits only EEO Statement UPrep does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, caste, national or ethnic origin, religion, creed, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran’s status, disability, use of a trained service animal, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
