Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift; 3x12.0 hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. A strong focus on patient and employee safety is paramount, with adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for patients through assessment and collaboration.
• Accurately document all patient assessments and interventions in the medical record as per policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing reassurance and calm direction.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (for specific facilities).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
