Clinical Manager - Behavioral Health

Position Summary
The Clinical Manager provides leadership and oversight for Pathway Caring for Children’s behavioral health and mental health services. This position provides clinical supervision, program management, staff development, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance while supporting the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to children and families.

The Clinical Manager works closely with licensed mental health professionals, therapists, clinical staff, agency leadership, and community partners to ensure effective and responsive behavioral health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

• Provide clinical supervision and guidance to behavioral health clinicians, therapists, counselors, case managers, and support staff.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered children’s behavioral health services.
• Monitor clinical practices to ensure compliance with evidence-based treatment standards.
• Review and approve treatment plans, assessments, clinical documentation, and discharge plans as required.
• Support crisis intervention and risk management activities, including managing patients with acute behavioral health needs.

Operational Management

• Oversee daily operations of behavioral health programs and services.
• Manage staffing schedules, caseload assignments, and resource allocation.
• Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and program performance metrics.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to achieve departmental goals and strategic objectives.

Staff Development and Supervision

• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate clinical staff.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
• Address employee relations concerns and implement corrective action when necessary.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
• Oversee quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
• Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction measures.
• Identify and implement corrective actions related to compliance, documentation, and clinical performance.

Collaboration and Care Coordination

• Partner with physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and community agencies to coordinate care.
• Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and community stakeholders.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
• Support organizational initiatives related to integrated care and population health management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related behavioral health field
• Active Ohio licensure required (LISW, LPCC, Supervisory designation or willingness to obtain with agency support)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community-based or school-based behavioral health
• Strong networking, outreach, and community relationship-building skills
• Experience mentoring, supporting, or informally leading other clinicians
• Interest in program development, service expansion, and leadership growth
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and community mental health systems
