Nurse Practitioner (NP) – First Responder Wellness Columbus, OH Overview: Our privately owned outpatient clinic in Columbus is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to perform comprehensive wellness physicals designed for First Responders. This short-term 1099 assignment offers a manageable patient volume and a predictable daytime schedule. Position Offers: Schedule: September 13–14, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Competitive 1099 compensation: $70.00–75.00 per hour (DOE) Manageable patient volume, 12–16 patients per day Full malpractice coverage provided Professional, supportive outpatient environment Short-term 1099 flexibility Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive First Responder physical examinations, including fitness-for-duty, pre-employment, annual, and return-to-work evaluations Conduct advanced health assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and risk stratification tailored to First Responder demands Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including cardiac stress testing, ECGs, pulmonary function tests, and vision/hearing screening Document all encounters accurately in the EHR, ensuring compliance with clinical and legal standards Provide evidence-based patient education on fitness, injury prevention, and occupational health risks Collaborate with physicians, occupational health specialists, and agency leadership to support readiness and return-to-duty decisions Identify occupational health and safety concerns and recommend follow-up, work restrictions, or specialist referrals as needed Qualifications: Active, current Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in Ohio Minimum 1 year of clinical experience Direct, hands‑on experience performing physical examinations required Experience with cardiac stress testing preferred DOT certification a plus, but not required Why Join Us: Join a professional outpatient clinic for a short-term assignment providing meaningful wellness care to First Responders, with a manageable patient volume, full malpractice coverage, and a predictable schedule.
