Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher for elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. Responsible for delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with support staff and families, and ensuring student progress. Earn up to $60 per hour in a 39-week contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction for elementary students with special needs
• Collaborate with classroom support staff and families to meet student needs
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate attendance and documentation
• Participate in ongoing professional development
• Support students in specialized day classrooms
• Communicate regularly with school teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Applicable teaching certification(s) for Special Education/Elementary instruction
• Current credentials required to work in school settings
• Minimum 1 year of special education teaching experience
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students in a classroom setting
• Comfort working in Specialized Day Classrooms (Self-Contained)
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on a days schedule
• Consistent attendance and professionalism appropriate for school day schedules
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school teams
• Works effectively with classroom support staff (2–3 paras per room)
