Field Manager
$45k - $57.5kPrecision Cutz Lawn Care
Production Manager for Precision Cutz Lawn Care. Salaried leadership role running the day-to-day of our field operations — training crews, holding quality, servicing equipment, and helping the company scale the right way. $45–57.5K Annual Salary Range Leadership Reports To Ops Manager Full-Time Year-Round All 12 Months Who you'd be working with. We're a locally-owned lawn and landscape company serving Northwest Indianapolis for 10+ years. 150+ five-star reviews and a team that genuinely likes working here. Our purpose is simple: to elevate lives. Our customers, our team, our community. We believe the work matters — and so does who's doing it. Our mission is to impact 5,000 people in central Indiana by 2028. That growth runs through production — and the Production Manager is the person who makes sure every job leaving our shop looks, feels, and performs like a Precision Cutz job. Our 5 Core Values 01 We face challenges with optimism 02 We are a team 03 We are always learning 04 We own it 05 We have integrity A Day In The Life What your day looks like. You'll spend your day moving between the shop, the field, and the office — leading crews, holding the standard, and making sure production runs like it should. Morning Kick Off At The Shop Meet the crews as they arrive. Walk through the day's routes and projects. Answer questions, unlock the equipment they'll need, and set expectations for the shift. Field Time QA On The Jobs Roll to active job sites to inspect quality, coach in real time, and address anything that isn't up to standard. When a crew needs a hand, jump in and work alongside them. Mid-Day Visit properties for specialty projects, define the scope, and build the estimate. Sometimes it's on the calendar — sometimes it's a same-day drop-in from the Ops Manager. Afternoon Equipment & Shop Check equipment maintenance, service what needs servicing, keep the shop organized, and track inventory. Broken equipment is a broken production line — you don't let it happen. End Of Day Debrief & Plan Crews return, equipment gets put away, day gets closed out. Quick debrief with the Ops Manager on what went well, what didn't, and what tomorrow needs to look like. Through The Year Spring cleanups and mulch. Summer mowing at scale plus specialty installs. Fall leaves. Winter snow, equipment overhauls, and planning for next season. Same role, four different rhythms. What You'll Own Five areas of responsibility. This role covers a lot of ground. Here's how the day breaks down — and where you'll spend your time and attention. 01 Staff Training & Supervision Train field personnel to hit our standard, evaluate performance (attendance, attitude, accuracy, efficiency), and give feedback in a way that grows people — not just corrects them. Partner with the Ops Manager on annual reviews. 02 Quality Assurance & Control On-site inspections. Real-time corrective action when something's off. Every job leaves right the first time. Safety procedures followed, every field, every day. 03 Equipment Management Oversee maintenance and servicing so equipment lasts and stays ready. Make sure crews are operating everything safely and correctly. Recommend future purchases based on real utilization data. 04 Field Work & Operations You're the eyes and ears on the jobsite. Work alongside crews when it helps the project. Handle specialty applications like post-emergent herbicides. Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked. 05 Estimating & Strategic Planning Property visits for specialty projects. Assess service needs, scope the work, and build the estimate. This is where field experience turns into revenue for the company. Sounds like you? This isn't an entry-level role. We're looking for someone with real leadership experience in the green industry who's ready to step into a bigger seat. Must Have 3–5 years leading crews in the lawn & landscape industry (crews of 5–15) Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and CRM software Able to learn GPS tracking and scheduling hardware Certified in CPR and First Aid (or willing to certify) Clean criminal record Valid driver's license Strong written and spoken communication Nice To Have Associate's degree, preferably in the green industry Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) Bilingual — Spanish and English Prior experience running estimates or scoping specialty projects Background operating and maintaining commercial landscape equipment Significant industry experience can substitute for formal degrees. If you've been leading crews well for years, we want to talk — bring your track record. Who You Are Credentials matter, but character is what determines whether you'll thrive in this role. Here's what we look for. Leads By Example People follow what you do more than what you say. You show up on time, hold the standard for yourself first, and present a professional image to crews, customers, and vendors. Highly Organized Your office, your shop, and your job sites all tell the same story. Systems in place. Nothing lost, nothing forgotten, nothing left half-done. Self-Motivated You initiate action instead of waiting for instructions. You don't need someone standing over your shoulder to get things done — you find the next thing that matters and start on it. Something breaks, someone doesn't show, a customer changes the plan mid-project. Your first move isn't panic — it's finding a workable solution and executing it. Builds Relationships Crews trust you. Customers remember you. Vendors return your calls. You know that respect isn't demanded — it's earned in how you show up over time. Enjoys The Challenge The days are long, the problems are real, and no two are quite the same. That energizes you — it doesn't wear you down. What You Get In return, here's what's yours. The full picture of what comes with the Production Manager seat. $45,000–$57,500 annually, based on experience. Consistent income, no wondering what your check looks like from week to week. Production doesn't stop — spring cleanups, summer mowing, fall leaves, winter snow. Twelve months of work, twelve months of paycheck. Real Ownership You'll own five areas of the business, not just execute a task list. Direct line to the Ops Manager, real input on how we scale. Room To Grow We're a fast-growing company and we want our leaders to grow with us. New responsibilities open up as we expand — and the person in this seat is first in line. Treated Like A Leader Direct communication with senior management. Real conversations, real trust. We hire adults, then get out of your way. No hard feelings. We'd rather be honest now than have you walk off in week three. You probably won't like this role if… You want a desk job. This role splits between office, shop, and field — sometimes all three in the same afternoon. You don't like giving hard feedback. Coaching underperforming crew members is part of the job — done with respect, but done directly. You need to be told what to do next. Ownership means figuring out what matters and getting after it, not waiting on a task list. You don't like getting your hands dirty. When a crew is behind or short-handed, you jump in — this isn't a "management-only" role. You want to coast through winter. Production runs year-round, and so do you. You think "good enough" is the standard. Quality is non-negotiable — you're the person who holds the line. #J-18808-Ljbffr
