Job Summary
An ICU RN (Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse) position is available in a healthcare facility within the specified location. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for critically ill patients in a neuro ICU setting, managing advanced equipment and complex medical conditions. The position requires adherence to facility protocols and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Position: ICU RN (Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse)
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or application initiation, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, and certification in NIH Stroke Scale (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
• Common patient diagnoses/types: Ventricle, strokes with or without TPA, post craniectomy, acute stroke management.
• Responsibilities: Managing ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, administering TPA, titrating drips per physician orders, troubleshooting RT equipment (vents, Cpap, Bipap, high flow), interpreting telemetry strips, and performing patient care tasks with nurse aides.
• Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with a charge nurse and house supervisor available 24/7. Staff may float to any hospital unit, including intermediate and general floors, with specified ratios. Orientation includes 20 hours of unit-specific training.
• Submission Requirements: The candidate must provide the last four digits of their SSN, active Illinois license or proof of application, understanding of OSF's Drug-Free Campus policy, and confirm available start date.
