Custodial ServicesThe Operations & Facilities Management Department (OFMD) at WashU Medicine provides essential services that sustain the medical campus' mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education. Our team delivers operational and administrative support, strategic planning, and project management to ensure efficient, safe, and innovative facility operations.As WashU Medicine continues to expand its clinical, research, and teaching footprint across and beyond campus, OFMD remains a trusted partner, driving excellence through seamless facility management and unwavering support of the university's mission.Provides custodial services for a department by performing a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and healthy work area for staff and visitors.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Collects and disposes of trash and waste products by taking them to the appropriate compactor.Cleans, disinfects bathrooms, sanitizes telephones, washes desks, and cleans lunch/service areas.Operates mechanical floor cleaners, vacuums, and utilizes mop buckets, wringers, etc.Mops, buffs, and maintains all floors and dusts/vacuums work areas and offices.Washes interior and exterior windows.Changes lights utilizing appropriate ladders.Performs other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Normal office environment.3rd shift schedule is typically Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM.Alternative work schedule as a regular part of the job (weekends).Physical Effort:Typically bending, crouching, and stooping.Exposure to chemicals.Typically standing or walking.Exposure to moving machinery.Frequent lifting of 25lbs or more.Ability to move to on and off-campus locations.Equipment:Heavy equipment (buffers).The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
