This role performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as trusses in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will use hand and power tools, follow measurements and blueprints, and move between different workstations as production needs change, while consistently meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Place parts in the correct position and specified relationship to each other on the assembly line.
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together using appropriate tools and methods.
• Cut products to specific measurements as needed, using tape measures and cutting tools.
• Inspect and remove defective products from the production line as needed.
• Tend machines that perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require and adapt to changing tasks.
• Perform assembly tasks for varying models of products as production schedules change.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and production activities.
• Clean equipment, floors, and work areas in accordance with safety procedures.
• Follow written and oral instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Apply basic math skills, including reading a tape measure, to ensure accurate cuts and assembly.
• Assist with installation or related tasks as needed, based on production requirements.
• Support overall production flow by communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing and assembly operations.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple written instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and complete basic production or safety documentation.
• Verbal communication skills to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, including practical application in a production setting.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Mechanical aptitude to work with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly processes.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior carpentry experience is helpful and considered an asset.
• Experience with construction or truss manufacturing is beneficial.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with trusses or similar structural components.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Ability to interpret simple blueprints, schematics, or installation diagrams.
• Comfort working in a loud, high-activity production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, WA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
