Veterinary Technician, EC/ICU Overnight

Triage patients presenting to the Emergency Room according to triage levels Assess pets and provide immediate lifesaving care under the direction of the ER doctor Provide patient histories, vitals, and concerns to doctors for timely emergency-patient management Work with technicians and assistants to perform diagnostics, execute treatment plans, and hospitalize patients Provide advanced nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients Administer medications, treatments, and fluid therapy, and perform ongoing patient assessments Provide client updates, answer questions, and explain pets’ conditions, treatment plans, and prognoses Maintain accurate medical records covering observations, treatments, diagnostics, medications, and changes in patient status Collaborate with veterinarians, specialists, and support staff on patient care plans Maintain treatment areas and prepare and manage medical equipment Ensure hospitalized patients receive attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay Requirements Minimum of two years of veterinary experience for experienced Veterinary Technicians/Assistants Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred Emergency or critical care experience preferred Strong technical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, and fluid therapy Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Applicants must be 18 years of age or older Applicants must provide employment eligibility/citizenship information Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in emergency veterinary care, including patient triage, advanced nursing, and medication administration.
