Ferguson Township is seeking a Seasonal Public Works Laborer (Landscape/Road Crew) to support the Public Works Department in maintaining Township infrastructure and public spaces. Come join us!What it's like to be a Seasonal Public Works Laborer at Ferguson TownshipAs a Seasonal Public Works Laborer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the Township's roads, parks, and public spaces. From mowing and landscaping to assisting with road repairs and infrastructure maintenance, your work will have a direct and visible impact on the community every day.You'll work alongside a dedicated Public Works team, using a variety of tools and equipment to complete projects that keep Ferguson Township safe, clean, and welcoming. Each day brings new tasks and opportunities to contribute to meaningful, hands-on work that supports residents and visitors alike.This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in physical work, and thrive in a team-oriented environment where no two days are the same.Key ResponsibilitiesMow grass and control roadside vegetation using equipment such as zero-turn mowers, push mowers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers.Maintain landscaped areas including mulch beds, trees, and plantings through weeding, mulching, and watering.Perform general road maintenance tasks including pothole patching, crack sealing, and culvert cleaning.Assist with traffic control setup and safety procedures during roadwork operations.Operate Township vehicles such as pickup trucks.Utilize hand tools and power tools including shovels, rakes, saws, drills, and other equipment as needed.Assist with maintenance and basic servicing of vehicles, tools, and equipment.Support other Public Works operations and special projects as assigned.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Minimum age: 16 (18+ preferred)Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class C) required.CDL and equipment operation experience preferred, but not required.Join Us!Ready to contribute to your community and gain hands-on experience in public works?
