Landscape Maintenance & Installation Crew Member (Beltline Arboretum Lead - Seasonal) Employment Type: Seasonal, Full-Time, Hourly Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Employment Classification: Non-Exempt Start Date: June 2026 End Date: October 31, 2026 Reports to: Beltline Arboretum Supervisor Salary: $18.00 / hr. Benefits: Partial work apparel. Seasonal employment is not eligible for health/time off benefits. Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized non‑profit community group committed to protecting and improving Atlanta’s urban forest through planting, conserving, and educating. The Atlanta Beltline is a sustainable redevelopment initiative that links a network of public parks, multi‑use trails, and light‑rail transit along a primary paved corridor repurposed from a historic 22‑mile railroad loop. Responsibilities Work with other like‑minded individuals in a non‑profit setting. Carry out all aspects of horticultural care and grounds management, including watering, mulching, weeding, mowing, pest control, erosion & stormwater control, and invasive vegetation management. Install irrigation systems and implement watering schedules for new plantings. Remove invasive plants and other weeds from planted areas, using both manual and chemical methods. Interface with the public as a responsible ambassador to communicate Trees Atlanta’s mission. Drive Trees Atlanta vehicles including trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles. Use a variety of hand and power tools including string trimmer, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, shovel, rake, and backpack sprayer. Use a handheld smartphone or tablet to collect relevant data in the field and upload to our server and database through ArcGIS Online. Assist when needed with work in other Beltline corridor areas. Qualifications Willingness to work as part of a team and effectively communicate with other team members. Capable of working individually or in a team. A valid driver’s license (minimum of three‑year history) with a clean record. Proficiency in pickup truck and trailer driving a plus. Must be able to pass a DOT physical. Ability to conduct strenuous physical activity, lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, and work on uneven terrain. Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. Updated tetanus shot. This position is a seasonal/temporary assignment with a 90‑day probationary period. Permanent employment is not guaranteed and is based on budget and program needs. Hours are adjusted to meet seasonal part‑time needs. All final candidates will be required to pass both a criminal background check and drug screening; adverse results could impact hiring (Trees Atlanta is a participant in the Federal Drug Free Workplace Program). Final candidates applying for positions that require driving company‑owned vehicles will also have to pass a Motor Vehicle Report review to determine eligibility. Eligible drivers must also pass a DOT physical. All new hires will be required to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
