Analytical Chemist

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis in accordance withestablished standard operating procedures (SOPs). Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD) data acquisition and conduct basic assessmentsof data quality. Perform X-ray tomography data acquisition and conduct basic assessments ofdata quality. Operate electron microscopy instrumentation and conduct basic assessments ofdata quality. Acquire particle characterization and energetics data, including techniques suchas:o Particle size analysiso Density measurementso Contact angle measurementso Surface tension measurementso Surface area analysis Perform routine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratoryinstrumentation. Dispose of laboratory waste in compliance with established safety andenvironmental procedures. Maintain laboratory organization through cleaning, stocking supplies, andsupporting general laboratory operations. Communicate results, observations, and potential issues promptly with technicalstaff. Work effectively within a team environment while managing changing prioritiesand timelines.Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or arelated scientific discipline, or equivalent knowledge gained through relevantlaboratory experience and on-the-job training. Experience safely handling chemicals and preparing samples in a laboratoryenvironment. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and standard laboratory practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to generating high-quality data. Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work safely at alltimes. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or RD laboratory environmentsis a plus. Basic computer and data management skills.\nCompany DescriptionFounded in 1998 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, Kyyba has a global presence delivering high-quality resources and top-notch recruiting services, enabling businesses to effectively respond to organizational changes and technological advances.At Kyyba, the overall well-being of our employees and their families is important to us.
