Your Role at Baxter The Field Service Technician I performs functions related to product readiness for patient utilization on a wide range of rental and customer owned medical products, including cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of Baxter and non‑Baxter products. The role involves troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, providing 24/7 on‑call coverage, and operating a fleet vehicle safely. Your Team The field service team works within hospital and service‑setting environments to repair medical devices. What You’ll Do Perform electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair of assigned products. Use appropriate tools to make required adjustments and repairs. Provide on‑call coverage up to 24/7, including weekends and holidays, visiting customer accounts as needed. Load, unload, and remove medical products weighing up to 1,680 pounds. Generate service revenue and complete activities required under the service contract. Safely operate a box truck vehicle or company car ranging from a cargo van up to a 26,000‑pound truck. What You’ll Bring Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Preferred Qualifications Technical or trade school training. DOT physical card (assistance provided). Experience with FDA‑regulated products. Experience in customer service. Safety Requirements Adhere to Hill‑Rom Safety Procedures. Wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing. Work in environments where biohazards may be present (hospitals, service centers, depots). Compensation The salary range for this position is $43,200–$59,400.
