MATERIAL SORTER

Overview

As a

Sorter , you’ll get to hand sort pallets and other materials within a distribution facility and ensure high levels of safety and cleanliness. This is the perfect role for someone looking to maintain high levels of activity and it is vital to the success of our plant’s production!

Hourly Pay:
$18.00/Hr.
Shift(s):
1st Shift Monday - Friday 5:30 AM - 1:45 PM

Richmond, IL, 60071

This role is a probationary role for which you will work 60-90 days and then have the opportunity to be considered for transfer to a piece rate role in which you could make $25-30/hr depending on your performance!
What Youll Do
Hand stack pallets to appropriate heights

Load and unload materials from trailers by hand

Move pallets, or materials on pallets or in crates, around the facility

Check loads to make sure they are secure

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards

Coordinate trailers moves within yard management system

Accurately complete production paperwork to track progress

Communicate directly with plant management regularly

What Youll Need
High school degree or GED required

Excellent oral and written communication skills needed

Ability to work overtime when needed

Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate

Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time

The noise level in the work environment depends on location

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
