Rivers Co-op Markets is hiring a full-time Front End Shift Coordinator!

Experience-based pay ranging from $18.27 - $19.58 per hour

Expected hours: 30-40 hours per week, based on candidate availability. Must have availability to work weekends. Candidates without availability to work weekends will not be considered.

Front End Shift Coordinators cashier and oversee the smooth operations of the Front End department. As a Front End Shift Coordinator, you play a pivotal part in the customer experience - the first person customers see when they enter our store, and the last person they see when they leave. You will interact with a variety of shoppers and join a great team of experienced Cashiers and Front End Shift Coordinators. You will process transactions, address customer questions, guide cashiers to meet established objectives, and maintain a clean and organized store. Union position

Reports to: Customer Service Manager

• Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service
• Lead smooth operation of store during shift according to Customer Service Manager's direction
• Supervise staff in manager's absence, notify manager of policy violations or performance concerns
• Perform cashiering
• Ensure customer purchases are bagged and, as needed, carry out service is provided
• Lead in register errors including POS freeze-ups, scale issues, network issues, or card reader problems
• Lead in complex or difficult customer interactions
• Perform drawer counting and cash-up procedures in accordance with established procedures
• Assist manager in resolving discrepancies with drawers or ringing errors
• Maintain responsibility for completion of established opening and closing procedures
• Maintain sanitation of Front End department and entryways. Perform customer restroom maintenance as necessary
• Collect and sanitize shopping carts and shopping baskets, including those outside the store
• Keep outside walkways clear of snow and ice; shovel and salt as needed

Requirements

• 1 or more year(s) of experience cashiering in a fast-paced environment
• 1 or more year(s) of experience in a similar team leadership or supervisory position
• Proficient in basic arithmetic including counting, addition, and subtraction
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions quickly
• Ability to work varied hours and days including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Approximately 15% of the time: Administrative duties, sitting
