Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the Select Medical Way and core values, focusing on superior quality, treating others with respect, achieving results, and promoting teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, providing direct patient care and prioritizing patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, beginning patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Ensure timely communication regarding changes in patient status to all relevant care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective decision-making and delegation.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and reporting hazards promptly.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift for CIRH locations)
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience (highly desired)

Schedule

This position operates on a Night Shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
