Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.Internal Communications ManagerResponsibilities:Advise senior executives on communications gaps and opportunities; turn them into plans that keep employees informed, aligned, and engagedLead change communications for company-wide and cross-division initiatives so employees understand what is changing, why, and what it means for their workBuild a connected, unified culture across divisions, locations, and newly joined teamsDevelop and lead internal leadership speaking programs (live, filmed, and other formats)Set communications strategy and standards so teams use the right tools and channels to reach their audienceOwn and scale the company intranet for diverse organizations; establish style guides, templates, and practices that raise qualityManage internal communications in crisesShape key internal announcements and narrativesUse AI to scale communications, improve quality, and increase impactEnsure internal and external messages are consistentDefine how we measure communications and change efforts, and adjust accordinglyBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree5+ years of professional experience in business/organizational communicationsPreferred Skills and Experience:Experience in internal communications10+ years of experience in communications or public relationsExperience supporting change managementPractical experience using AI tools to draft, produce, personalize, or scale communicationsExperience building employee communications or engagement across multiple business units or locationsImpeccable writing skillsAbility to quickly grasp and synthesize complex issuesEstablished skills in strategic and critical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and relationship-buildingHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under deadline pressure while executing multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented team environmentExpert self-starter with extreme ownership; identifies what needs to be done and drives it to completion with little directionAdditional Requirements:Available to travel to SpaceX locations as needed (<10%)Ability to share writing samples and examples of previous internal communications campaigns, events, or leadership contentBased on-site in Hawthorne, CA or the Bay Area, CA. Remote or hybrid work will not be consideredCompensation and Benefits: Pay Range: Level 4: $165,000.00 - $240,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
